DETAIL ITINERARY

Day 01 Arrive Delhi

Arrive Delhi, Transfer to hotel for few hours.

Day 02: Delhi – Haridwar by Train the Drive Haridwar – Rishikesh (24 km)

Post breakfast, transfer to New Delhi Railway station to catch your train to Haridwar. At Haridwar you will be met by our representative and then transferred to your Hotel in Rishikesh. Rest of the day at leisure. Dinner and overnight at Hotel.

Day 03: Drive Rishikesh – Uttarkashi (158 km)

After early morning breakfast, drive to Uttarkashi. Arrive Uttarkashi. Rest of the day free to discover this small hill city. Uttarkashi situated on the banks of the Bhagirathi, surrounded by the rivers of Varuna and Assi, this sacred fast developing town is the capital of the newly constituted westernmost district of the Uttarkhand sub division along the Indian border. This is a town full of temples and historical monuments. Overnight in Uttarkashi.

Day 04: Drive Uttarkashi – Gangotri (107 km)

Morning: Early Breakfast at the Hotel. Later drive to Gangotri. Afternoon: Lunch at the Tourist Bungalow. Gangotri with a few ashrams on the left side of the riverbank and the temple to the Goddess Ganga which stands on the right bank. Simple but dignified in the valley of the Gods surrounded by the majesty of the mountains and the beauty of the nature. Countless devotees come here travelling hundreds of miles to pay their homage. Rest of the day at leisure to admire the natural scenic beauty of this beautiful region. Overnight at Gangotri.

Day 05: Drive Gangotri - Boudhakedar (235 km)

Post breakfast, drive Gangotri to Boudhakedar. Today we have long drive but en route the road will provide you spectacular and exciting view of the landscape. We will have lunch on the way.Overnight stay at camp in Boudhakedar.

Day 06: Trek Boudhkedar – Bhairon Chatti (4/5 hrs)

Gradual trail leads via beautiful Benakhal village located on the top of hill with its temple, trail continue through several villages provide the opportunity to explore the life of mountain people, Now steep ascent through forest till the meadow of Bhairon Chatti, here you enjoy the breath taking view of surrounding Himalaya. Dinner and overnight stay at camp. (2600m)

Day 07: Trek Bhairon Chatti – Guttu (5 hrs)

Post Lunch, continue trek through the farm lands as far as top from where enjoy impressive view of Garhwal range. En route, visit a sheep and a rabbit farm run by the government. Continue trek along the road till we reach at Ghuttu, a small village is popular for trekkers and pilgrims. Overnight stay at tented camp. (1600m)

Day 08: Trel Guttu – Khinko La (3500m) - Panwali (5 hrs)

Trails ascend towards Khinko-la pass (3500m), and then descend down through a magnificent tropical forest and rice-fields as far as meadow where we will camp for overnight stay. Campsite provides the magnificent panoramic views of the Garhwal Himalayan peaks including Gangotri, Kedarnath, Kedardome, Chaukhamba, Trisul, Kamet, Nanda Devi and several other peaks. (3150m)

Day 09: Trek Panwali – Magu Chatti

Enjoyable trek through forest with up and down trail that provides us breathtaking view from the hilly side following steep descend to Maggu Ki Chatti, an abandoned village was used by pilgrims in olden days. Overnight at camp. (3050m)

Again steep descent through thick forest till Triuginarain. Village of Triuginarain, as per Hindu mythology, the lord Shiva got married to goddess Parvati, at this place in temple is an important pilgrimage spot for Hindus, night in camp.

Day 10: Trek Magu Chatti – Gaurikund

Again steep descent through thick forest till village of Triuginarai where we will visit a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. As per Hindu mythology, the lord Shiva got married to goddess Parvati in this place and it is an important pilgrimage spot for Hindus. Continue trek to Road head of Sonprayag. Pass Sonprayag then continue trek as far as Gaurikund.

Gaurikund, is situated at an altitude of 1981 meters. It is believed that this is where Parvati meditated for hundreds of years to win Lord Shiva as her consort. Here is an ancient temple dedicated to the Gauri. This houses metallic idols of the couple Shiva and Parvati. There are two water tanks here, one hot water with sulfur traces cold spring water, whose water changes colours many a time during the course of the day. Afternoon: Lunch at the Camp. Rest of the day at leisure.Evening: Dinner at the Camp. Overnight stay at the Camp.

Day 11: Trek Gaurikund – Kedarnath

Morning: Breakfast at the camp. Trek to Kedarnath (14 Km). The temple of Kedarnath is visible when you are about 10 km away then steep ascent but it is a thrilling and rare experience. The road sides are lined with alpine flowers of every shade and hue. Afternoon, free to explore and enjoy in Kedarnath. Overnight stay at camp in Kedarnath.

Day 12: Drive Kedarnath – Gaurikund – Chopata (74 km)

Morning: Breakfast at the camp. Witness the morning ceremony at the Kedarnath Temple. The temple with its carved exterior, sits in a courtyard protected by Nandi, Shivas mount. Historians say the temple with its Golden pinnacle is 1000 years old. Hundreds of devotees flock the temple every day to worship at the shrine both morning and evening. Morning prayers are called the "Nirwan Darshan" in which one worships the Shiva in its natural form. Later drive to Chopatta, the beautiful Himalayan meadows surrounded by green lush forest. Rest of the day at leisure. Dinner and overnight stay in Chopata. (2500m)

Day 13: Drive Gaurikund – Joshimath - Badrinath (147 kms)

Scenic drive to Joshimath (Jyotrimath), winter seat of the Rawal Sahib of the Badrinath shrine and important place for the trekkers leads their expeditions to the various routes. Short drive on the foot of Nanda Devi sanctuary, visit soe of holy places before reaching to Badrinath. This most important Char Dham is brightly painted. Badrinath also figures in Buddhism lore. Hindus believe those eons ago, a sage named Narad chastised Vishnu for indulging in earthly pleasures – allowing his consort, Lakshmi, to rub his feet. Vishnu sent away Lakshmi immediately and fled to this valley. Here he meditated in "yogdhyani" posture, which is associated with Buddha, who also happens to be the ninth incarnation of Vishnu. All day along the devotees throng this temple. The main shrine has a mandapa and inner sanctum with a black idol of Vishnu sitting under a gold canopy. Afternoon: Lunch at the Camp. Rest of the day at leisure. Evening: Dinner at the Hotel. Overnight stay at the Camp.

Day 14: Trek Badrinath – Govindgath – Ghangaria (5/6 hrs)

Morning: Breakfast at the camp. Later drive to Govindgath (25 km). From here you trek down to Ghagaria (13 km). Afternoon: Lunch at the Camp. Rest of the day at leisure. Evening: Dinner at the Camp. Overnight at the Camp.

Day 15: Trek Ghagaria – Guanghardia – Ghagaria (Valley of flowers) (5/6 hrs)

Post breakfast, Trek to explore the Valley of flowers. Here you see the nature in all its pageantry, in a profusion of fragrant splendor, protected by snowy sentinels looming above. All these coupled with the fauna combine to make a superb and harmonious ensemble. Later return to Ghagaria. Overnight stay at camp.

Day 16: Trek Ghagaria – Govind Gath – Badrinath (3/4 hrs trek)

Trek back down in the hills to Govind Ghat from where we will drive to Badrinath. Rest of the day at leisure or visit the Temple of Narsingh and see its idol, which reflects the state of the world. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 17: Drive Badrinath – Rishikesh (230 km)

Morning: Breakfast at the Hotel. Drive down to Rishikesh. Afternoon: Lunch at the Hotel. Rest of the day at leisure. Evening: Dinner at the Hotel. Overnight at the Hotel in Rishikesh.

Day 18: Drive Rishikesh – Haridwar then Train to Delhi

Early Breakfast at the Hotel. Visit of this small city of Rishikesh and the nearby Ghats and ashrams. Rishikesh is situated on the right bank of the river Ganga and surrounded by the Himalayan ranges. Known from the medieval time as celestial abode, is a great pilgrimage center of India, attracting a large number of pilgrims. It is believed that Bharat, brother of Lord Rama subjected himself to severe penance here. Thus a temple known as Bharata temple was later constructed here at that site and then the town of Rishikesh sprung up round that temple. It has since been the abode of saints and sages where they sojourn before undertaking the arduous pilgrimage that lay ahead on the distant Himalayan peaks. Later drive to Haridwar. Haridwar is one of the holiest places for Hindus. "KUMBH MELA" takes place here after every 12 years. Millions of people come here at that time to take a bath in the holy river Ganges at that auspicious time. After Lunch transfer to Railway Station for catch train to Delhi. Arrive Delhi, transfer to Hotel. Overnight at Hotel in Delhi.

Day 19: In Delhi

Post breakfast, half day visit of Delhi. Start your city tour with Old Delhi. The tour of Old Delhi starts with the visit of Red Fort in Old Delhi. This palace citadel was built Shah Jehan in 1648 and was a veritable city within a city. When Shah Jehan transferred his capital from Agra to Delhi he built the Red Fort as his residential place as well as his military fortress. The fort is a complex of marble buildings with balconies, filigreed windows, massive red sandstone walls, ramparts and gateways. The most elegant building is the DIWAN I KHAS or the Hall of Private Audience. From the Red Fort you will take a cycle rickshaw to Chandni Chowk or the Moonlit Square. It is a medieval area in which you will recognize not just Cairo or Istanbul, but also Chester and Heidelberg. This is perhaps one of the Delhi's most populated areas and the largest marketplace – jewelers, spice merchants, food vendors, money lenders, shopping arcades, workshops as well as residences, are crammed here. Within this area is the British built Town Hall, the St. James Church built by Colonel Skinner in the early 19th century, the old St. Stephen's college and the office of the state department of Archeology with a colonnaded facade going back to the 19th century when it was the British Residency. Late evening transfer to IGI Airport for catch return flight.
